EXTRAORDINARY VIA Meeting 2009 Posted Sep 17, 2008
VIA Churches and Contacts:
This email is to inform you of the wording of the motion that will be dealt
with at the Extra-ordinary VIA meeting on the last Saturday in September (namely
on September 27, 2008). The motion is as follows:
The Canadian
Baptists of Western Canada pastors on Vancouver Island recommend "the VIA release the dream and future of Sylvan Acres Ministry
to the CBWC and the CBWC Camping Committee under a management structure
like the one used for the Gull Lake Camp. Within this structure,
the 'shareholders' must include representation from Vancouver Island churches."
The location of the meeting is the Forge (formerly known as the Western Community
Baptist Church). The meeting start time is 10:00 a.m.

Staff of the 90's Reunion Posted Jul 14, 2008
Many, many people spent a summer or two at Sylvan Acres back at the old C.L.E.C. in Cowichan Lake. A few of us thought it would be great to get together and have a reunion being as it has been 10 years since we last had camp at the C.L.E.C.
Sylvan Staff of the 90's Reunion
July 11 -13 2008
A great big THANK YOU to those who came out for the Sylvan Reunion. It
was great to see everyone again. I think Dave Ramsey said it best "I'm
home".
Everyone had a blast both young and old alike with Singing Time on Saturday
morning, Bucket Ball on Saturday afternoon, Camp Fire Saturday evening,
and Chapel on Sunday morning with an emotional sharing time which will
never be forgotten....it was a weekend full of God's richest blessings.
We are currently
trying to get everyone
to send in their photos and digital videos
so we
can make a reunion DVD keepsake.
If you have media to contribute
please contact
